Practice Focus

Theodora Stringham focuses her practice on bringing solutions-oriented representation and zealous advocacy to complex issues impacting individuals, organizations, and businesses. Ms. Stringham seeks to understand clients’ concerns and provide thorough and strategic options aimed at achieving their goals. She has been recognized for her work in the Real Estate, Labor and Employment, and Commercial Litigation practice areas.

Ms. Stringham has extensive trial experience. She litigates complex land use disputes, including but not limited to, eminent domain/condemnation matters, boundary line disputes, easement, zoning, access and valuation concerns. She has served as a fee counsel for the Virginia Department of Transportation and has also provided representation to individual landowners and developers alike. Ms. Stringham also has significant appellate experience, having previously argued before the Supreme Court of Virginia.

Ms. Stringham also provides litigation support for employment issues. She provides trial representation for discrimination issues, non-compete matters, contract disputes and disciplinary/termination concerns. Having previously represented both employees and management, she is available to provide employment counseling aimed at reaching workplace resolutions in a direct and effective manner.

Ms. Stringham currently serves as a General Counsel for the Board of Directors of the Fairfax Bar Association and as part of the Eminent Domain Committee of the Virginia State Bar’s Real Property Section. She is committed to serving the community through pro bono and serves as a regular volunteer with the Northern Virginia Pro Bono Law Center’s Neighborhood Outreach and Employment Panel Programs.

Previous Experience

Prior to joining Kramer Elias, Ms. Stringham was a Principal attorney at an Am Law 200 Law firm, focusing her practice on Commercial Litigation, Real Estate and Employment Law. Ms. Stringham also has experience working in litigation at a Northern Virginia law firm and with a labor union. She received her J.D. from Rutgers Law School and her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Journalism and Media Studies (double major) with a minor in French magna cum laude from Rutgers University.
